In addition to
on-going meetings, service projects are made available to
membership throughout the year. A typical Kiwanis
Club consists of members of the community in every walk of
life and profession.
Service projects
address needs within the community such as: eliminate drug
abuse, helping the elderly, promoting literacy, supporting
youth, and supporting people in need.
Kiwanis also plays
a special role in developing future generations of leaders.
K-Kids, Builder Clubs, Key Clubs, and Circle K Clubs offer
leadership opportunities beginning at the elementary school
level. In addition to these youth oriented clubs, Kiwanis also
sponsors Aktion Clubs for individuals with mental and physical
disabilities who enthusiastically perform service to help
others. |
